Naturalization

Naturalization is the process by which U.S. citizenship is conferred upon a foreign citizen or national after he or she fulfills the requirements established by Congress in the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA).

The bureau of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) processes all naturalization applications and provides the Court with a list of the candidates selected to be naturalized in the Federal Court.

The United States District Court for the Southern District of Illinois is honored to take part in the process of Naturalization.

The next Naturalization Ceremony for new citizens in the Southern District of Illinois is scheduled for Friday, September 19, 2014 at 10:00 AM. The ceremony will be held outdoors at the courthouse square in Belleville, Illinois. The courthouse square is located at 10 Public Square, Belleville, Illinois 62222.
