Services to the Hearing Impaired and Others with Communications Disabilities:

Pursuant to Judicial Conference policy, the Southern District of Illinois will provide reasonable accommodations, including sign language interpreters or other auxiliary aids and services to court proceeding participants who are deaf, hearing impaired, or have communications disabilities. The Court may provide these services to spectators in certain circumstances.

Should you require these services, you must contact the Access Coordinator as soon as possible in advance of the scheduled court proceeding so that appropriate accommodations can be arranged where warranted.

Requests should include the following information (if applicable): case number; presiding judge; time/date of proceeding; and a description of the requested accommodation.
 

Courthouse Accessibility

Both the Benton and East St. Louis courthouses have dedicated handicap parking and wheelchair accessibility directly to the public entrances. For additional information contact the Access Coordinator.
